Top 10 Fastest Growing Cities in Washington State. 3 Cities in Eastern Washington Made the List

Washington's population has topped the 7.5 million mark, with growth coming mostly from those moving to the state.


Numbers released Friday by the Office of Financial Management shows the state has grown by 118,800 residents over the past year, a 1.6 percent increase.

In the past year, net migration accounted for 76 percent of the state's population growth, with births responsible for the other 24 percent.


The state's population has grown by 821,900 people since April 1, 2010, with 295,100 of those moving into King County in that timeframe.

Population growth has remained concentrated in the five of the state's largest metropolitan counties: Clark, King, Pierce, Snohomish and Spokane, where 69 percent of the population growth occurred this year.


The top 10 cities for population growth are: Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, Spokane, Kennewick, Redmond, Vancouver, Kirkland, Pasco, and Bellingham.


As for the Moses Lake area including Moses Lake, Moses Lake North, Cascade Valley, Mae Valley, Ephrata, Soap Lake, and Warden it has a population of 43,322 jumping from 38,900, that’s a 422 people difference


Moses Lake has a population of 24,423 as of 2019
