After princess Megan’s birth the globe saw its first glimpse of Meghan and Harry's new son. The new parents released thier boy’s name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was revealed on their official Instagram account. While there are no rules for choosing names in the Royal UK, the British royal family likes to honor the family members who came and passed before them.
As for the baby's surname, Mountbatten-Windsor is what male descendants of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip use when they don't have a royal title, the name “Archie” has been in the family title since the 60’s. Prince Harry addresses the press by saying
“We're just so thrilled to have our own bundle of joy and to spend precious time with him as he slowly, slowly starts to grow up,.”
