A Quincy School District school bus has been involved with a collision with an Alpha/Omega charter bus on Washington State Highway 281 near Washington State Highway 28. Weather conditions in the Quincy Valley were in the low 30s after heavy bands of rain moved into the region the day before the incident. The Quincy School District sent out a notification stating that the district will be running on a two hour delay due to the inclement weather.
The driver of the charter bus company Alpha and Omega died at the scene. He was a male but his name hasn’t been released yet. His death was due to his injuries.
- WHO WAS INJURED?
Grant County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said some of the students on board the school bus suffered minor injuries. There were 26 students on board, with the age of the students ranging from 5 to 16 Years of age.
41 people, including the driver and a tour guide, were on board the Alpha Omega tour bus during the collision.
- WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY STUDENT?
The Grant County Sheriff's Office has just released a statement at 11:28am stating that all drivers and passengers have been taken off the two buses and were transferred to the Quincy Valley Hospital. The hospital's address is 908 Tenth Ave SW Quincy, WA 98848
- HAS THERE BEEN ANY POSTED UPDATES FROM FIRST RESPONDERS?
As of right now the Grant County Sheriff's Office has posted the following update,
Update: all passengers on the school bus and tour bus have been transferred to Quincy hospital. Of those injured, none were life threatening. Parents are being reunited or have since been reunited with their children at Quincy hospital. As this now turns into an accident investigation, the road will be closed for some time. We ask people to please continue using alternate routes and avoid the area.
Quincy Police Department has posted the following,
Notice to our community. Our office will be closed today. If you need an officer please call 787-2222 for non-emergencies, and 911 for emergencies

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says White Trail Road is closed between Highway 28 and Highway 281 due to a crash involving a Quincy SD bus, and a tour bus. Drivers are asked to take an alternate route.

The Quincy School District said that parents can pick up thirty kids at the Quincy Valley Hospital located at 908 Tenth Ave SW Quincy, WA 98848
Kyle Foreman, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said a small amount of students suffered minor injuries in the crash. All students have been taken to Quincy Valley Hospital for reunification with their families.
Quincy School District announced earlier this morning that they would open two hours late on Friday due to icy roads and hazardous weather conditions.
