M.L. city council enacts 24/7 camping ban to start in November

The Moses Lake City Council has agreed to enact a 24/7 camping ban during their regular Tuesday evening meeting in awake of a newly proposed homeless camp site on the junction of SR-17 and SR-171 (Broadway Ave).


The passed anti-camping ordinance bans camping in any park, street or public property at any time this includes a ban on sleeping in a car or leaving personal property in the public areas. The designated homeless camp I’ll include non electrical insulated 35 micro singular housing units and are already being placed.


MLPD Chief Kevin Fuhr said that he will not be not will he be having his officers in force the ordinance until the homeless shelter is completely completed. The designated camping area should be done in mid November of this year.
