Individual involved in Monday’s bike vs vehicle collision in Moses Lake passes away due to injuries

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office have provided an update regarding Monday’s Dirt Bike vs SUV collision. Don Palmen who was the driver of the Husqvarna dirt bike has passed as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday's collision. Don was first flown to Central Washington Hospital and later flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Don is currently in the custody of the King County Coroner's Office


On August 8, 2022, at 0835hrs sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Dorothy St & Moon Dr NE near Moses Lake, involving a Husqvarna FC450 and a Ford Escape. The Husqvarna FC450 was being driven by Don Palmen and the Ford Escape was being driven by Lily Knowles along with one passenger.

The Ford Escape was traveling east on Dorothy and entering the intersection at Moon Dr, when the Husqvarna, traveling south on Moon Dr, failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the Ford Escape. Don was treated on scene by medics and later flown to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee then transferred to UW’s Harbor Medical Center in Seattle.
