The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is sending out notifications to all smart phones in Grant County regarding a public safety alert for the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a social media post the GCSO said,
“This morning at 10 a.m., the Grant County Emergency Operations Center will be sending a mass notification via reverse phone call to all cell phones within Grant County. It will show as coming from 509-754-1323. This is a legitimate message and not a hoax. Please do not call 9-1-1 to report this call.”

The statement went on to saying,
The purpose of the reverse phone call is to reach people who have limited access to the Internet or news media. Through a reverse phone call, we can communicate with people, offer life-saving advice, and provide a means for them to seek services.
Local law enforcement offices are asking that not call 9-1-1 or MACC’s non-emergency line to report this call or to seek answers to questions. Rather, call 509-754-1323.
