Clyde Owen, Former Larson Air-Force Base Commander Passes Away Passes Away at age 100

Port of Moses Lake Director Clyde Owen passed away last night July 1st 2019 at 11:00pm. Owen was the last base commander at Larson Air force Base at the now the Grant County International Airport.


Clyde Owen also has the honor in welcoming former President John F Kennedy to the airbase in 1966.

The Port of Moses Lake realeased a statement on Clyde Owen at 9:00 Tuesday morning



“It is with sadness that we announce the loss of our close personal friend to the Port of Moses Lake, last night Clyde Owen passed away at 11:00 pm.
Clyde was the last base commander at Larson Air Force Base and our first Executive Director. He was an inspiration to everyone who met him and he was the reason why Moses Lake became the city it is today. Thank you sir for your service and for inspiring everyone here at the Port of Moses Lake. We will continue to honor you by working hard to keep your legacy alive!” - Port of ML

Many Locals have said there condolences to the former Commander, Director of the ML Chamber of Commerce Debbie Doran-Martinez said in a post

“He was a wonderful man and will be missed”.


Owen also narrated and talked about his journey at both Larson Air Force Base and at the Grant County International Airport
