UPDATE 11:47pm: Regarding the #WardenFire There are growing concerns on location of another tank, this one a propane tank. This is located on the ext of the bldg, NW side. Crews are going to try again to extinguish the fire. Power is currently out on SR-17/SR-170 near the town of Warden. More updates available when they become available

Washington Potato Company, one of Washington’s largest potato processing facilities, was destroyed in a devastating fire on Thursday night. The plant employs full and part-time workers plus seasonals. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says that no one was hurt.


The structure fire started just before 7 p.m. Warden Police along with fire crews and medical personnel are on scene. The plant employs full and part-time workers plus seasonals. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says that no one was hurt.


Residents are being notified of the evacuations door to door. There is a Level 3 Evacuation Notice for Road-U SE and south of SR170 in Warden. Residents are being asked to leave now.


Avista Gas has secured gas shutoff to one of the structures. Grant PUD is to isolate power to two buildings east of fire building.


Grant County crews are headed to the scene and will assist fire crews in the safety zone to secure power to several buildings.
