8-year-old Moses Lake child dead after accidental shooting in Cascade Valley

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the 8-year-boy who was accidentally killed by a pellet gun in central region of Cascade Valley. The coroner identified the boy as Jacob Munoz. And the 13-year-old was the brother of Jacob.

No other information was provide by GCSO.

An 8-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed Tuesday evening on Scott Rd NE in Cascade Valley around 6:30pm. The 8-year-old was accidentally shot in the chest by a pellet gun fired by a 13-year-old boy.

According to Kyle Foreman with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office medical responders tried to stabilize the child however the child passed away on scene. Detectives are investigating the shooting as an accident.

“What we ask is that everyone prays for the family and for the little boy, and the little boy’s friends and other loved ones," Foreman said in a Facebook update post.

Kyle Foreman also asked for everyone in the community to show compassion and empathy in their Facebook and Twitter comments.


The identity of the child will be released on Wednesday by the county coroner according to GCSO
