A 12-year-old Western Washington boy is suffering serious injuries after a water collision on the Columbia River between Grant and Kittitas county.
According to the Grant County Sheriffs Office the young boy was operating a personal water vehicle and collided with a ski boat near the Sunland Community.
At 10:30a.m. the boy reportedly steered into the path of the AGC Runaround ski boat, operated by 42-year-old Alex Englund. The collision sent the boy into the water where he was struck by the propeller.
He was transported by helicopter to Confluence Health in Wenatchee and was then later taken to Harbor-view Medical Center in Downtown Seattle.
Another 12-year-old boy who was on the boat suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Englund was not injured.
Deputies said there was no indication that anyone involved was impaired.
